About HHSSI

“Supporting Ipswich with Experience”

At Helping Hands Support Services Ipswich (HHSSI), care isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are.

Our experienced management team brings over 5 decades of hands-on disability and mental health support experience, built on trust, consistency, and genuine connection.

Founded in 2017 alongside the rollout of the NDIS in the Ipswich region, HHSSI was created to provide a more personal, boutique-style approach to disability support. Mental health support is at the heart of what we do, and our team’s experience extends well beyond the introduction of the NDIS.

Our mission is simple:
to create a positive, empowering NDIS experience for every person we support.

We take the time to carefully match participants with the right support workers, fostering strong, respectful relationships that promote stability, confidence, and meaningful progress.

At HHSSI, we value individuality. We focus on each person’s strengths, abilities, and goals — not their limitations — working alongside our participants to support independence, wellbeing, and a fulfilling life.

Because at HHSSI, you’re not just supported — you’re understood.

Assistance with Social and Community Participation

“Get Out. Get Connected. Feel Included”

At Helping Hands Support Services Ipswich (HHSSI), we believe life is richer when you feel connected — to people, places, and your community.

Our Assistance with Social and Community Participation supports NDIS participants to get out, get involved, and enjoy meaningful experiences that align with their goals and interests.

This Core Support is designed to help you build confidence, independence, and social connections — whether that’s in your local community, with family and friends, or through centre-based activities.

All supports are tailored to what is reasonable and necessary for you, with your goals guiding every step.

You may choose to:

  • Join social, hobby, or interest-based groups such as men’s shed, gaming groups, art groups
  • Attend community events or sporting activities
  • Visit family and friends
  • Enjoy outings such as movies, markets, or local festivals
  • Spend time at pools, water parks, or recreation centres
  • Go shopping or out for a meal
  • Visit parks, gardens, or libraries
  • Build life skills such as cooking or meal preparation
  • Attend appointments or hydrotherapy sessions

At HHSSI, we make it easier to participate, connect, and belong — because everyone deserves to feel included in their community.
